Ah, it’s been a while since I last posted.  I’ve been working out; in fact I was on vacation last week and still worked out.  I have been trying some of the new exercises I see in magazines or online.  Some of them I really like; the main thing I need to work on is finding a good mix of exercises to do each day.  I don’t want to go in and do the same thing every day but having a good arsenal of different exercises is definitely helpful.

Today I started with a mile on the spinning bike; I’m getting my speed up; I think today it was somewhere in the 2 1/2 minute range.  I’ve gone faster but this was my first move so I didn’t want to over do yet.

I moved on to a half mile on the elliptical with varying resistance.

Next was a half mile on the treadmill; have I mentioned I hate the treadmill?  I started with a moderate walk, then I moved to the highest incline at a slow pace doing lunge steps for about a minute.  I returned to a walk; this time a bit more brisk.  After that 2 minutes running at a 10 – 10 1/2 minute mile pace.  I worked my way through a mixed up routine of walking, running,  and lunge steps until the 1/2 mile had passed; this took about 10 minutes even with the running bursts.

I pushed myself harder than I had in a few workouts.  I did some floor exercises next; I even threw in a couple of rounds of renegade rows with the kettlebells. My abs were screaming so I pushed my self to do a few more crunches, wiggle worms, and planks.

I then did some push ups and some incline sit ups.  At some point I even did some weight work on the arms.  Charles was about done working out but he said he had to do his 21’s first.  I didn’t know what they were so I did them with him.  I used 5 pound weights for standing bicep curls.  I kind of liked the move; I’ve got to add this one in to the mix too!
